Permanent Part-Time Position in our Seaton Office

The main focus of this role is to work with our other Researchers in the collation of key data relating to the sectors we cover. The role involves mostly internet-based research with some telephone research as necessary, and the resulting information is then inputted into our systems. This job requires you to obtain data from a variety of sources, (such as published articles or reports) and then requires you to concisely summarise the facts, accurately for our clients. The work will consist of routine research and from time-to-time other bespoke research projects, and would be ideal for someone who considers themselves to be a good ‘all-rounder’.
This position would suit a person with a natural aptitude towards dealing with people at all levels. You should be comfortable working to deadlines. Speed and accuracy are also of high importance and therefore strong keyboard skills are necessary.

Package Offered

We are offering this as a part-time role (14.5hr/wk), with flexibility to fit working times around school hours and/or school holidays. Our standard office hours are 9am to 5.15pm, Monday to Friday. No weekends.

Salary: £18k per annum. + bonus, Pro rata. 30 days’ annual leave (Pro rata), including statutory bank holidays.

Focal Research sells comprehensive market intelligence on the Social Housing sector, by subscription, via an online platform Preempt.

The Preempt system provides our clients with both a unique management strategy tool, and a sales tool, which can be used regionally.

We are seeking a likable, hands-on person, as our primary sales resource, to make contact with the senior management of companies selling their products and services, principally into the Social Housing refurbishment, management and newbuild sector.

Able to identify a clients’ key requirements and then discuss and practically demonstrate the solutions our Preempt data can provide, this person must be able to ultimately convert this interest into a subscription.

The success of support and the training provided to new and existing clients, will also be measured by how long you retain their business for.

This post requires excellent IT and communication skills and an intelligent and helpful manner.

A multi-skilled, small team player with some knowledge of the building, or social housing sector would be ideal, but we are flexible.

For over 30 years Focal Research has operated as an important data provider with an impressive client base.

Package offered

Salary £35k – £42k p.a. plus a twice per annum performance-related bonus + mileage allowance.

Office based but would consider split home working. The majority of meetings would be via Teams with occasional UK travel.
