Cirencester housing association has announced that is proposing to transfer all its 170 homes to Cottsway Housing association. The proposed merger is currently undergoing tenant consultation and if successful would means Cottsway would own and manage nearly 5,500 homes. The consultation closes on the 15th of August. Cirencester’s executive director of corporate, Maureen Margrie said “This merger proposal is not out of short-term necessity; it is about taking control of the future for our customers – those we have and those who would like to live in a safe and low-cost home in their local community. We have considered all options and done thorough research that has led us to propose joining with Cottsway is the best solution for the future – we share a similar vision and feel that how Cottsway delivers their services for customers aligns with our own way of working.”
