L&Q and Countryside Partnerships have received planning consent to add 947 homes to the Beam Park regeneration scheme in Rainham, Essex. With this addition, the project’s total housing delivery reaches 3,947 homes, with half designated as affordable housing. The development, valued at over £1bn, includes community facilities like a nursery, medical centre, and retail spaces. Architects Patel Taylor have incorporated a new 2.5-hectare public park into the latest designs. The Section 106 contributions from the developers are set to reach £12m, including increased contributions to Transport for London. The plans also prioritise pedestrian and cycle routes to encourage active travel.
